Gordon County residents can get rid of unwanted plastics, electronics, batteries, paint and much more, for free, at our Fall Recycling event. For the first time, we will be accepting household hazardous material. Please see details below for all items we are accepting, and some that we are not accepting, at our Fall event:

  • Plastics

    • Hard plastic/Plastic flower pots

    • Soft plastic

  • Electronics

    • Computers

    • Laptops

    • Routers or modems

    • Printer

    • Audio-video devices, including DVD/CD players

    • Mobile phones

    • Clock radios

    • No tube TVs, CRT monitors, or Microwaves with front glass please

  • Batteries

    • Car batteries

    • Lawn mower batteries

    • Alkaline batteries – do NOT have to be taped

    • Lithium batteries – terminal taped

    • Tool batteries (not the tool)

    • Nickel Cadmium batteries

    • Nickel Metal Hydride batteries

    • Lead Acid batteries

    • Power banks

    • e-bike/scooter batteries

    • Button batteries – taped

    • Hearing Aid batteries

    • Defibrillator batteries

    • Smart watches

    • Wireless earbuds

    • Misc. small electronics WITH a battery

    • No e-cigs/vapes or murcury batteries please

  • Paints (20 gal limit/household)

    • Latex paint, like Behr and Valspar

    • Kilz

    • Minwax

    • Thompson Wood Sealer

    • Helmsman, Polyurethane

    • Spray paint

    • Paints considered hazardous (see Household Hazardous Materials below)

  • Household Hazardous Materials - first come, first serve

    • Herbicides, like Roundup, Ortho, Miracle Grow, and Remuda

    • Pesticides, like Raid, Seven Dust, Ortho 3-in-1, etc., including those in aerosol cans

    • Paints considered hazardous such as lacquer, lacquer thinner, enamel paints including marine type paints and epoxy

    • Lightbulbs containing mercury, such as florescent bulbs

    • Aerosols: Lubricants, paints, degreasers, household cleaners

  • New or used tennis shoes

  • Paper shedding (5 box limit)

  • Eye glasses

  • No tires please

  • No expired or unused medications please

Food Drive

Please bring non-parishable food for the food insecure in our community.

Blood Drive

Blood Assurance will be on-site to help make your donation experience as pleasant as possible!. Donating blood is a safe, simple and rewarding experience that usually takes less than an hour! Donating is easy, and it makes a huge difference in the lives of others.

Please get a good nights sleep on Friday, eat a good meal within 4 hours of your donation, and drink plenty of fluids (juice and water) on Saturday.

Cash and check donations will be accepted during the event and credit card donations are accepted via our secure website at any time.
