Spring 2022 Recycling Heroes
Keep Calhoun Gordon Beautiful and all of Gordon County had a great recycling day on April 9th, 2022. We are very proud of the community participation and impact that we have had since Keep Calhoun Gordon Beautiful got started by a handful of committed individuals in 2018.
The Spring 2022 Recycling event was a great success!
Thank you to all the heroes who volunteered and to the community heroes who brought materials to recycle. None of this will end up in the landfill or on our roadsides or waterways. Here’s a summary what we accomplished:
251 vehicles came through
We recycled:
746 tires
2000 lbs. - paper (shredded onsite)
2400 lbs. - hard and soft plastics
1950 lbs. - electronics
350 lbs. - batteries
36 pairs - tennis shoes
Our fantastic community donated:
16 units of blood via Blood Assurance
2 tubs of food collected for the VAC
100 pairs of eye glasses
And we gave out approx. 200+ trees
We plan to hold our next recycling event in the Fall of 2022. We want to continue to grow this event, get more people involved — both as volunteers and recyclers — and we want to continue to provide everyone in Gordon County with options to recycle. We hope to see you at one of our next events!
